Galeria has its own range of mediums, which allow you to explore the full range of tactile as well as visual properties of acrylics. This is a large, versatile and economical range, which is easy to use, expressive along with the dependable quality that artists have come to expect from Winsor & Newton.
OIL MEDIUMS
Painting with oil color almost always involves the use of Mediums and Oils in order to further control the color, prevent over thinning and maintain the flexibility of the paint film (fat over lean).

Galeria has its own range of unique removable acrylic varnishes for the protection of finished artwork. Thinly painted acrylic films may be varnished after 24 hours of drying time, but up to a week of drying time should be allowed for heavy or impasto layers before varnishing.

A final clear, non-yellowing artists picture varnish, with a gloss, satin or matt finish for the protection of your artworks.

Mediums are used to create an even wider variety of techniques and effects and to prevent
over-thinning. Varnishes are final coatings, which protect finished pictures from the build-up of dirt and grease.
ACRYLIC MEDIUMS
Mediums are used to create an even wider variety of techniques and effects and to prevent over-thinning. By changing consistency and finish acrylics can be safely altered to a very large number of different consistencies. With the help of mediums, acrylics may be used in a fluid, gestural manner (much like water color) or in heavier applications (as with oils) or they can be shaped and carved, used for print making or in virtually any other technique imaginable. Each consistency is available in either matt or gloss.
